Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell Team Up for Series Based on Evil Dead

The Evil Dead series is coming back to terrorize and shock audiences once more, this time on the small screen. What makes the news even more amazing is that Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell are set to team up for the television series named Ash vs. Evil Dead.
Scheduled as a 10-episode series, Raimi, his producing partner Rob Tapert and star of the original movie series Campbell are the executive producers for the TV series that will air on Starz. The biggest news is of course is of course Campbell’s return as the hero in a storyline that had audiences captivated. As Ash, the main protagonist of the movie series, Campbell led the fight against evil in The Evil Dead, Evil Dead II and Army of Darkness.  Now, with his return to the series, albeit on the small screen, the franchise is sure to gather the audience’s attention again.

While fans and everyone around the venture is excited it, Campbell joins in too. “I’m really excited to bring this series to the Evil Dead fans worldwide – it’s going to be everything they have been clamoring for: serious deadite ass-kicking and plenty of outrageous humor,” he promised. Raimi, who is set to direct the first episode of the series, is enthusiastic about the project too. “Evil Dead has always been a blast. Bruce, Rob and I are thrilled to have the opportunity to tell the next chapter in Ash’s lame, but heroic, saga. With his chainsaw arm and his ‘boomstick’, Ash is back to kick some monster butt. And brother, this time there’s a truckload of it.”
Now, with these kind of promises, who wouldn’t get excited about the series, especially since we know how much fun the movies were! Come 2015, the small screen will come alive with the new adventures of Ash – so are you ready for Ash vs. Evil Dead?
