Taylor Swift became one of the youngest and brightest faces when she was only 16 years old, when she released her first album in 2006.
Taylor had been performing since she was a little child; her parents noticed her talent and moved to Nashville, to accelerate her career by meeting with musicians from that area. That’s where she was discovered, while she was performing at a cafe, by Scott Borchetta; that’s what allowed her to release “Tim McGraw” in 2006.
After that, Taylor experienced one success after another, setting a record for a female solo after five of her singles placed in the Top Ten, consecutively.
Taylor released her next album in 2008. She was already a star, but Fearless was such a tremendous success that she became the biggest one, of any genre. She became the highest-grossing artist of the year. In 2009, Taylor received five American Music Awards, two ACM awards, two CMTs, five CMAs, and a trophy at the MTV Video Music Awards. At the same time, “You Belong with Me” was a number two in the pop world. By the end of 2009, Fearless was now the best-selling album of the year.
In 2010 she added a couple of songs to the soundtrack of the movie Valentine’s Day, where she also made a cameo. In the movie she played as Taylor Lautner’s girlfriend, her actual, real-life boyfriend (at the time). After that, she finished Speak Now, her third album. Taylor would later receive two Grammy Awards thanks to the single “Mean”.
Speak Now had sold five million copies all over the world by mid 2011. “World Tour Live: Speak Now” was released that year; it was a live album.
Red, her fourth album, was kind of a sonic departure. Max Martin worked with her for ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” the main single. It was a number one in the pop world. This album was not like the others, this one had a pop sheen and marked a new direction in her career; her collaborations with people like Mark Foster, Butch Walker and Dan Wilson ceased to take place. Red, released in 2012, earned four Grammy nominations for Taylor, sold over a million copies in the first seven days after it was released. After that, Taylor mounted a major tour with over 75 dates in Europe, the United States, and many other countries. After that, Taylor began planning her fifth album, titled “1989”, to be released at the end of October.
Taylor Swift began singing when she was a little child, and thanks to her effort, talent and her supportive parents, she’s become a great star in the music industry, and one of today’s top hotties.
