All You Need to Know About the 57th Grammy Nominations

The Recording Academy has announced the nominations for the 57th Grammy Awards and we bring you a lowdown of all the headlines – the most talked about nominations, the reactions and more!

First, the most important news of them all – The nominations for the 57th Grammy have one record-breaking name in store, Beyoncé Knowles. The pretty lady who’s name first featured in the Grammy nominations list in 2000, with Destiny’s Child for their song Bills, Bills, Bills has found six new nominations this time around, taking her total to a whopping 52! This makes her the single most nominated woman in Grammy Awards history! She had drawn par with Dolly Parton last year, and the new list of nominations take her beyond any other female artist.

Now for the other mortals who are on their way to tread the path this diva has shown! Beyoncé of course leads the way with six nominations as do Pharrell Williams and Sam Smith who have managed to bag the same magical number of nominations. A strong number of artists come close with four nominations each though, including Iggy Azalea, Usher, Miranda Lambert, Eric Church, Jack White, Drake, Jay Z, Beck, Sia, Gordon Goodwin and recording engineer Tom Coyne. The number of nominations is of course no indication of how artists have actually scored on the popularly front. Here is a lowdown on all the major categories to tell you more.
