Katy Perry not only slammed Australian paparazzi as ‘stalkers,’ she shamed them by posting pictures of a few of the relentless photographers on her Twitter account.
While in Sydney, Australia on her Prismatic World Tour, the 30-year-old pop star was visiting a beach in the area over the weekend. She was followed by a pack of paps who she says harassed her, telling her they’d only honor her pleas for privacy if she gave them a bikini shot. That’s when the ‘Firework’ singer tweeted a no-holds-barred rant addressed to the Australian press, calling the photogs “perverted” and “disgusting,” saying they have “no respect, no integrity (and) no character.”
Her complete tweet reads:
“Australian PRESS: you should be ashamed of your paparazzi & tabloid culture. Your paparazzi have no respect, no integrity, no character. NO HUMANITY.
I was stalked by many grown men today as I tried to take a quiet walk to the beach. These men would not stop as I pleaded over & over to let me have my space.
Many other people stopped to try and help but the paps continued to laugh at me & hold their [camera] barrels up & shoot. They told me to make a “deal” with them. Give them a bathing suit shot and they would leave me be.
This is PERVERTED & disgusting behavior that should NEVER be tolerated, especially by people who do not want this. I will NEVER make a deal with paparazzi and I will not befriend anyone who perpetuates this kind of behavior.”
The ‘Roar’ singer also added a warning:
“Remember AUS anyone printing or posting unauthorized photos of me in a bikini from these DISGUSTING/PERVERTED OLD MEN is AGAINST my will!”
Perry has several shows scheduled in Australia which will take her through the end of the year. It should be interesting to see if the press Down Under changes its behavior in taking — and publishing — any unauthorized pictures.
