Rapper Iggy Azalea has denied making a sex tape, using her official Twitter account (@IggyAzalea) to make the statement, which reads:
“I dont have a sex tape but for the record…Anyone who releases or attempts to make profit off someone else’s intimate moments against their will is a sex offender.”
Stories are now circulating that the video might have been made without her knowledge purportedly by Hefe Wine, an ex-boyfriend of the Australian ‘Fancy’ singer and model. Wine, also a rapper, is said to be the man in the sex tape.
According to TMZ and FoxNews reports, Wine claims that he met Azalea after her 18th birthday. Additionally, he says she was “100 percent fully aware” of their actions being recorded. Wine is also reported to have said that not only was his computer stolen, but he’s not actually the person who offered the tape to the adult entertainment company (and self-proclaimed home of the Kim Kardashian sex tape), Vivid Entertainment.
Even in the face of all the foregoing, it seems that Wine is still interested in cutting a deal.
That’s probably not a good idea. Even if Azalea wasn’t a minor at the time of the sex tape, if she did not explicitly give her consent to its filming and publication, the release of the tape by her ex-lover would classify it as revenge porn.
Of course, if the tape was filmed before Azalea turned 18, it would be deemed child pornography.
Either way, not good.
It doesn’t look like Azalea would ever agree to allow publication of the sex tape, even if she knew about it and was over 18 at the time of its filming. Her final tweet on Thursday about the matter to her 2.4 million Twitter followers reads: “i really hope that america will follow Europe and their laws to better protect peoples privacy and fundamental rights.”
