It isn’t every day that you get to catch Willie Nelson and Bryan Adams on the same stage. Well it turns out that one such evening is coming up in the form of the Lean On Me: A Celebration of Music and Philanthropy show, part of the Grammy Foundation Legacy Concert endeavor to celebrate the charitable side of music artists. Joining Nelson and Adams will be gay rights activists Melissa Etheridge and Cyndi Lauper.
Close to three decades ago, Willie Nelson had joined hands with John Mellencamp and Neil Young to get a nonprofit organization going. The aim of this organization, Farm Aid, was simply to hold an annual benefit concert in support of American farmers. This heartfelt endeavor has now earned the country artist a place among other philanthropic names to be honored at the Wilshire Ebell Theater in LA. Nelson, who recently celebrated the 50th anniversary of his first appearance at the Grand Ole Opry, will have for company Bryan Adams, known for his charitable pursuits in the field of education.
Some celebrities have always played a part in the charitable scheme of things and thanks to their celeb status, have been quite successful too. This special Grammy night is yet another effort of the music industry to honor these noble souls.
