Dawn of the Planet of the Apes - Movies

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes – Trailer

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is the sequel to Rise of the Planet of the Apes released in 2011. If you remember at the end of the last movie, the ending sequence shows the deadly virus spreading across the globe, and if you notice the landscape in the trailer, it does not bode well for the humans.

Andy Serkis reprises his role as Caesar, the genetically modified chimp from the first film. Of course, Serkis is best known for his role as Sméagol/Gollum in The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Jason Clarke from Zero Dark Thirty fame and Gary Oldman (better known as Commissioner Gordon from the rebooted Batman trilogy) provide performances for the humans.

Synopsis: A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species. (Twentieth Century Fox)

Director: Matt Reeves
